First game for the Samsung Frankfurt Universe
On Sunday, 7th of May, the Samsung Frankfurt Universe will be taking part in the BIG6 for the first time in the club's history. At 3 p.m. the team of head coach Markus Grahn will meet the Milano Seamen in the highest European game class in the Frankfurter Volksbank-Stadion.
The Italians have already played their first game in the BIG6 competition and won their home game against the Berlin Rebels with 14:13.
The same result was brought home by the Hessians after their first serious test this season, the GFL opener at the Stuttgart Scorpions. A proper position-fixing due to the fact, that the Swabians were also very ambitious in the southern group of the GFL.
The victory was important for the self-confidence and everyone knows that not everything can work directly after a large squad chance.
With the Seamen a very serious opponent to win the group is coming to Frankfurt. That makes the task not easier.
The Italians have the opportunity to move directly into the Eurobowl with a win. With the 42:7 at the Torino Giaguari, the Seamen got their fifth victory after six games in the Italian league and also gained additional self-confidence for the fight at the Samsung Frankfurt Universe.
The most important fact for the hosts is to compensate the lack of game practice, but they can count on their loud and numerous fans.
The high quality in the squad is undisputed, some experts trust the team from Frankfurt to reach der German Bowl this year. After winning the EFL Bowl in the past season the Samsung Universe now want to go to the next international step in the BIG6.
