The first quarter was an observation round, then Bergamo’s offense started to click and scored on a field goal to take the lead for the first and last time in this game.
On the ensuing Kick off Jeremy Larroque took the football to the house to give lead to the Templiers. Then the Templiers defense forced the Lions offense to punt and a good return gave the ball on the 18 yards line of the Italian team. One play was enough for the home team to score a touchdown (Anthony Couvin 18 yards run) that gave a 14-3 lead at half time for the Templiers.
After the break Bergamo tried to come back but with the defense stopped them one more time and the punt the ball was snapped way over the punter and finished outside of the endzone for a safety. This time it’s Anthony Couvin who returned the ball to the Bergamo 30 yards line and Jarell Kelley scored on a 26 yards run coming off a trick play. The score at the end of the third quarter was 23-3.
In the fourth quarter the Lions offense did try to score but didn’t succeeded. It’s the Templiers who will find one more time the way to the end zone. After a long drive Peejay Jack connected with Jeremy Larroque for a 17 yards touchdown pass. This was the final score of the day.
The Templiers now have to face the Valencia Firebats in 2 weeks to advance to the quarterfinal in Innsbruck against the EFL defending champions.
